One afternoon, Ai the pianist was going to water the garden. Far from the sky, "something" is dropping to her mind's eye. At the same time, office worker, Yu, and high school student, Kei who all live separately got haunted by same sensation and they faint and fall. Three of them wake up as nothing has happened, but they all got haunted by "peculiar feeling". Up to that time, little and subtle things which they have not paid attention become something meaningful. "Something is calling me." Day by day, the "peculiar feeling" grew and became unavoidable and they are getting isolated.

Parents of Ai get puzzled by Ai's behavior which seems that Ai is avoiding her parents. Yu's girlfriend also can not lessen her anxiety because of Yu's isolation. Even carefree Kei's mother concerns much about Kei who acts differently. They are just bewildered by the beloved one's isolation. They can not offer help.

Later, Ai, Yu, and Kei's "thoughts" synchronize. They see same image, hear same melody, and mumble same words. When their "thoughts" exceed reality, they all encounter at the "promised place" suddenly. They are connected by "loneliness". With bliss, they abandon "reality". And "reality" easily forgets about them and it drifts to "another reality"

A phone conversation occurs between a man and a woman. They both state their love for each other and that they will do this so they can be together. The woman is in a hotel room with a view of the port. The man is inside of a parked car with a view of the ocean. A man named Colonel appears and hands the man a box with a loaded gun inside. The Colonel states "its a present from the witch". The woman's name is Meiko (Michiko Kichise) and she is the young wife of Takamitsu Temiyako (Takamitsu Temiyako) - president of a large medical corporation. The man in the parked car is Dr. Tokito Takahiko (Hiroshi Abe) an employee of the large medical corporation. This evening, Meiko and Tokito will implement their plan to murder Meiko's husband and frame his death as a suicide. Because of an important government official visiting Japan, the streets of Yokohama have been cordoned off. Meiko's husband will also be alone in his office, allowing for the perfect opportunity for Meiko and Tokito's to implement their plan. Tokito goes inside his office on the 5th floor and instructs his secretary not to allow any phone calls while he is doing paperwork. He then uses a rope from his balcony to climb to the 6th floor and heads for the bathroom. He goes ahead and completes his mission. While Tokito leaves the office he then becomes trapped in the elevator, which is turned off at 5:30. Meanwhile, Tokito's Alfa Romeo is stolen by two young people. As Meiko waits for Tokito in a nearby cafe, she sees Tokito's Alfa Romeo drive by, but with a woman in the passenger seat. The couple that stole Tokito's Alfa Romeo then checks into a villa using Tokito's name. A murder occurs at the villa that is widely reported by the news. In the morning, the elevator turns back on and Tokito is finally able to leave the office. He is now the prime suspect in a murder he didn't commit. When the police arrive to interview Tokito they soon discover the dead body of the company president

Her parents act like there is nothing wrong with him. Later that evening, Hana attends the Katakai Fireworks Festival and observes the town’s youth group happily planning for next year’s event. She decides to get Taro involved with the group in an effort to bring him out of his shell. Hana drags Taro out of his room and to the youth group office. Unfortunately, Taro is not accepted as a member. Hana, nevertheless, is determined to get Taro back into society and helps him find a part-time job as a paper boy & into the adult meetings for the Katakai Fireworks Festival. With Hana’s help Taro slowly opens up to the world again. Then, with winter approaching, Hana has a relapse with her leukemia. Taro comes to the hospital everyday to visit Hana and soon learns that the Katakai Fireworks Festival is a symbol of happiness for Hana. Taro then takes the initiative to make Hana happy and approaches the town’s youth group once more for admittance..
