Pat Tillman never thought of himself as a hero. His choice to leave a multimillion-dollar football contract and join the military wasn't done for any reason other than he felt it was the right thing to do. The fact that the military manipulated his tragic death in the line of duty into a propaganda tool is unfathomable and thoroughly explored in Amir Bar-Lev's riveting and enraging documentary.

Few Indians are aware of the number of suicides that occur in Indian Hostels as a result of the phenomenon termed as 'Ragging'. This sadistic practice has become a ritual wherein students are beaten up, stripped, paraded naked, starved, tortured, molested and even raped by their seniors. Since victims of ragging find it humiliating to report sexual abuse to their parents or others, most ragging related crimes go unreported. Sadly, these very students who suffer silently at the hands of their seniors in turn vent their frustrations by ragging their juniors in the following years. Thus, this cruel practice continues year after year and has claimed (and is still claiming) the lives and careers of innumerable students. The film 'Hostel' is a shocking eye opener about this evil practice and is a wake up call for all of us.

During production, the films were referred to as Yakuza Hunter, Yakuza Hunter 2, and Yakuza Hunter 3, but since the name change it seems to be down to two movies called “Sukeban Hunters: Soukatsu Nagurikomi Sakusen” and “Sukeban Hunters: Jigoku no Kettou” directed by Kazufumi Nakahira and Shinichi Okuda, respectively. The first film features AV star Asami (Sukeban Boy, The Machine Girl) as the main “hunter” with her rival played by perma-grumpy Rena Komine.
Jhootha Hi Sahi is story about lies and laughter. Fun and friendship but mostly it is about love, true love. The film, which opens on October 15th stars John Abraham in a totally new look...actually he looks a bit like a geek, yes really!! Directed by Abbas Tyrewala of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na fame, the film also stars Tyrewala's wife Pakhi. About the film the director said, "Unlike Jaane Tu heartbreak is real in Jhootha Hi Sahi. When heartbreak happens it actually pains. Jaane Tu was little playful and childish. However, in case of Jhootha Hi Sahi there is lot of pain. It is more serious film. Though it's a rom com there is a dramatic aspect to it." What if you had a secret hotline to the heart of the girl you love? In this darkly romantic ghost story, a woman (Academy Award Winner Mira Sorvino) travels to an isolated cabin where she finds herself stalked by an apparition (Shane West, "A Walk To Remember") who has come to inhabit her space as his own. With the unexpected arrival of the woman's boyfriend (Golden Globe nominee Justin Kirk, "Weeds"), the dark spirit's haunting grows more obsessive. Soon the woman begins to exhibit weirdly irrational behavior as the thin line between sanity and possession begins to unravel. A stunning directorial debut from Tom Provost, "The Presence" is grounded in terrific performances, beautiful cinematography, a lush musical score, and a Hitchcockian style that explores the idea of pure cinematic storytelling.
One of the most unusual films in recent times that you may happen to see. But then, in my opinion Mazzacurati has always been unusual among Italian directors, due to his sensitivity and his (very un-Italian) understatement. "The passion" tells the story of a group of assorted people, bound together by the most unlikely (and, in some cases, unfortunate) circumstances, who find themselves busy staging the tale of the passion of Christ on a Good Friday in a Tuscan village, an old tradition that is still alive all over Italy. Among the characters, sometimes bizarre but seldom really improbable, two in particular stand out: an obscure, alternative film director that finds himself in a phase of creative stalemate and an ex thief turned actor and a very bad one at that or rather no..
